Higo Koshirae style was first develped by Hosokawa Sansai. A master of
Batto Iaijutsu, Sansai developed the sword design to meet what he considered
to be the essential requirements of the Nukiuchi(cutting on the draw) technique.
Practicality became the overarching characteristic for determining the
design and this Higo Rentatsusha Koshirae is a great example of these approach.
The typical rounded Fuchi/Kashira is made of blackened iron and no fancy
ornaments are featured. The cotton Tsuka is securely wrapped over the genuine
sharkskin.
Weighes approximately 880 gram without the Saya.
Each Iaito sword from Nishijin Sword features a flex resistant and well-balanced
blade made of zinc/belylium alloy, which, as the result, can provides the
breathtaking feeling as much as you could get with the Shinken practice.
Proudly hand-crafted by Japanese swordsmiths in Japan. Because each of
your order is made to order, please allow three to four weeks for the production.
Nishijin Sword Price: $450.00
