Yasaki Inari Shine Ceiling PictureEach design used on this T-shirt was scanned from the pictures on a compartment ceiling of a front shrine of Yasaki Inari Shrine in Asakusa, Tokyo. The ceiling pictures are featuring 100 horseback-riding, historic greats and legends that were drawn in accordance with such the historical investigations as a figures, arms, clothes of each individual and horses.

This version features Date Masamune(1567-1636) who was a distinctive Samurai from the civil war period through early Edo Shogunate era. Heir to a long line of powerful Daimyo in the northeast region of Japan, he established the modern-day city of Sendai. Being an outstanding tactician, he was made all the more iconic for his missing eye, for which he was often called DOKUGANRYU, "one-eyed dragon."

Yasaki Inari ShrineOn the 23rd day of November, 1642, the third general of the Tokugawa Shogunte, Iemitsu erected the Edo version of the Sanjusangendo Temple near this Inari Shrine for national peace and security and more matured development of the martial arts for citizen in Edo.

The building was imitated to the Sanjusangendo Temple of Kyoto and because the Inari Shrine was located in the direction of the mark where an arrow was hit the point to in the archery-training facility of the temple, the shrine was named Yasaki, "arrowheard"
