Tachi - Masamitsu - Uchigatana Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Gendai Era

This sword is Tachi made by Masamitsu, one of the most famous swordsmiths of the Showa Era (1926-1989). The sword is very well preserved, with no particular forging defects. There is one tiny spot of black rust on the shinogi about 20 cm from the habaki on the hakiomote. There is also a small scratch on the shinogi about 25 cm from the hakiura habaki. The sword is relatively heavy, weighing 1,170 grams despite the engraved Hi groove, and is a dynamic and magnificent piece of work. The Kohirae is equipped with a modern iai fittings. The tsukamaki is wrapped in suede and feels very good in the grip. This sword is suitable for batto and iai use.
