Katana - Mumei(No Signature) - NBTHK Certificate(Enju) - Shirasaya - Suriage Nakago - Koto Era

Kikuchi Takemitsu, a warlord from Higo Province (present-day Kumamoto Prefecture) who was active from the end of the Kamakura Period to the period of the Nanbokucho Dynasties, took on the role of the Sei Shogun (Sei Daishogun), the prince of Emperor Godaigo, and fought against the Muromachi Shogunate as the Emperor of the Southern Court, and at one point succeeded in conquering the whole of Kyushu. It is no exaggeration to say that Takemitsu, the 15th head of the Kikuchi clan, built the clan's heyday.

The swords of the Enju school are not only highly regarded as weapons, but have also been handed down to the present day as fine works of art. The Enju school swordsmiths were also involved in the production of the "Kikuchi spear," which uses a special style devised by Kikuchi.

This sword has a slightly wider body, chu-kissaki, a deep sori and a suguha hamon with itame-hada. The sword has no sugnature due to the surigage finish, but the characteristics of the Enju school in the Nanbokucho period are well represented..
