Tanto - Mumei(No Signature) - Shirasaya Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Shinto Era - Saitama 47869

¥143,000 ¥156,000

Here is a shobu zukuri tanto made in the Edo period. The blade has been polished, but there are a few kitae flaws and other defects.

There are also grooves carved on both sides of the blade. The hada is itame, and the hamon is unique, with completely different types on the sashiomote side and the sashiura side. The hamon on the Sashiomote side is dynamic, almost hitatsura-like, with many hataraki such as aranie and kinsen. The hamon on the Sashiura side is a wide midare mixed with notare, and like Sashiomote, it has active hataraki. The koshirae on the shirasaya side is newer, having been made in recent years.

This is a recommended antique piece for those who want to enjoy Japanese swords more casually.
