Katana - Mumei(No Signature) - Uchigatana Koshirae - Suriage Nakago - Shinshinto Era - Tokyo 211442

¥250,000 ¥450,000

A Japanese sword with koshizori made during the Shinshinto period, suitable for batto, has arrived.

It is also equipped with an uchigatana koshirae, so it can be used immediately as a bat sword. The preservation condition of the sword is relatively good, but there are scratches all over the blade, probably because it was actually used as a batto, especially on the sashiura side.

On the other hand, there are no flaws, chips, or dents, so it can be said to be very sound. The hada is itame and also shows some chikei. Hamon is fine kogunome and overall niedeki. Since it is koshizori, curvature is starting at the hand.

All uchigatana koshirae's fittings are of the period and have a taste of the times. The silk tsukaito is tightly wrapped in the hineri-maki style. The scabbard is in the black ishime style with the family crest of maruni-sakura (cherry blossom inside a circle) applied between the koiguchi and kurigata on the sashiomote side. The butt of the scabbard is also equipped with a large metal kojiri.

If you are looking for an authentic Japanese sword that can be used for bat or iai, this is the one to recommend.
