Tanto - Mumei(No Signature) - Aikuchi Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Shinto Era - Saitama 64784
This piece is a magnificent short sword made during the Shinto period in the Aikuchi style, covered entirely in shark skin.
The blade is in excellent condition despite being an old polish, with no flaws, rust, or chips. The jigane is itame mixed with mokume, with very active chikei. The hamon is in the Notare style, with the ko-gunome pattern clearly visible.
The koshirae is in the Aikuchi style, with the tsuba being a dashi-zame without a menuki. The scabbard features a Kizami-style design around the Kurigata, with red-polished shark skin covering it. Two-thirds of the scabbard is wrapped with black shark skin, creating a two-tone color scheme.
The blade is in excellent condition, and this unique and luxurious koshirae tanto is available at an extremely reasonable price. This piece is recommended for a wide range of people, from beginners to core fans of Japanese sword collections.
