TOZANDO KATANA SHOP

Tanto - Mumei(No Signature) - Shirasaya Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Shinto Era - Tokyo 327384

¥210,000

This piece is a Shobu-zukuri tanto with horimono on both sides of the blade.

The sword is in excellent condition with no flaws, rust, or chips. The jigane is well packed with itame, and the utsuri of the midare can be seen. The hamon is a relaxed notare with some ko-gunome and ko-choji mixed in here and there.

The blade is a unique Shobu-zukuri with a Sanskrit motif engraved on the sashiomote side and a dragon motif on the sashiura. The Sanskrit characters probably represent Dainichi Nyorai(Vairocana) and Fudo Myo-o(Acala).

This is a very stately and dignified tanto with a Shobu-zukuri sword blade with a holimono feature. Be sure to add this tanto to your collection.
