O-Tanto - Mumei(No Signature) - Shirasaya Koshirae - Suriage Nakago - Shinshinto Era - Kyoto 61577

¥280,000

This is a large sized tanto, over 30 cm. The blade is also very thick and may have been used as a yoroidoshi. The preservation of this sword is excellent, with no flaws, spills, or dents.

The itame hada has very active hataraki such as chikei and yubashiri. Whitish utsuri are also well visible. The hamon is a thin togariba with a midarekomi boshi at the cut end. It is a very dynamic and very practical large tanto full of mino characteristics. The habaki is carved with hieroglyphs from which the kanji characters were derived. On the shirasaya is the character kanemoto.

Considering its state of preservation, this is a highly recommended piece.
