This katana is a very clean and well-preserved Kanemitsu piece.

The sword is in very clean condition with no defects such as forging flaws, chips, dents, or rust. Originally a longer tachi, it was shortened to its current length by Suriage. Hada is Itame with mixed Mokume and very active and spectacular hataraki such as yubashiri and chikei. Hamon has irregular gunome patterns burned into the midare. Hataraki such as aranie and ashi are also fully appreciated. Boshi are midare komi.

The name Kanemitsu is engraved on the nakago. Since the sword was created in the shinto period, the habaki is from that time, but the koshirae is newly made and so the whole sword is very beautiful.

Make this Shinto period piece yours to enjoy both for appreciation and for practical use, such as for batto.
