Tanto(Yoroidoshi) - Mumei(No Signature) - Tanto Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Koto Era - Tokyo 328176

¥210,000 ¥240,000

This is a powerful and very sound yoroidoshi.

A yoroidoshi is a dagger, which means to pierce through armor, and is used to aim and stab through gaps in armor when fighting an armored opponent in a hand-to-hand combat. As a result, the blade is much thicker than a regular dagger.

The blade is 9.6 mm thick, making it very heavy. The sword body is in excellent condition with no flaws, rust, or chips. The polishing is still from the old days, so it is a little cloudy and has a few marks from being taken in and out of the scabbard. The jigane is well packed with itame hada. Hamon is a tall gunome with a tight nioi.

The koshirae is tanto koshirae, all of which are from the period, and the same themed fittings are used on the sashiura ichimonji. It is also equipped with a wooden kozuka. The tsukaito is wrapped in the style of tsumamimaki.

Be sure to add this powerful Yoroidoshi to your Japanese sword collection.
