Katana - Mumei(No Signature) - Uchigatana Koshirae - Suriage Nakago - Koto Era
This sword was made in the Koto period, originally a little longer but was shortened in later years. It is a very beautiful sword with no fatal flaws and is well preserved. The jitetsu is itame grain with mokume mixed in, and the Hoso-suguha hamon further accentuates its elegance. The tsuba, fuchigane, and menuki are original, and the tsuka-gashira is thought to have been replaced in later years. The plain tsuba, in particular, is simple but gives the sword a samurai-like appearance. Overall, this sword is well-balanced when held, and is a gem that not only has high antique value but is also powerful enough to be used for practical purposes such as Iai and Batto.
