A Japanese sword made during the Shinto period, which is relatively well preserved, has just arrived. There are a few forging marks around the munekado on the sashiura side, which is a sign of genuine forging. There are no flaws, chips, or rust. The hada is neat, clean, itame and elegant. Hamon is niedeki with gunome mixed in with notare. The curvature is shallow, a characteristic of early katanas of the Shinto period.
The koshirae is completely new, having been renewed in 2024 with new fittings. The sheath is also lacquered in a distinctive green color, and the tsukaito matches it.
Both the length and weight are suitable for batto and iai use, making this a great value katana that can be enjoyed not only for decoration but also for practical use.
