This piece is an unsigned katana from the Shinto period. The blade is extremely clean and free of any defects. The ko-itame hada is decorated with stretchy gunome togariba hamon. The boshi is returned in the shape of a komaru. It is assumed that the blade was originally longer, but it has been shortened by suriage. The weight is not too heavy and easy to manipulate, making it an ideal sword for iai and batto. It was equipped with a shirasaya koshirae, but we have equipped it with modern iaido fittings to make it ready to use as a bat or iai. The condition of the blade and the excellent sharpening make this a great value piece that can be enjoyed not only as an iai or batto, but also as an aesthetic piece.
