TOZANDO KATANA SHOP

Katana - Masayoshi - Uchigatana Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Gendai Era

¥500,000

Ikkansai Masayoshi lives in Iwatsuki City, Saitama Prefecture, and his real name is Zenichi Arai. He is a disciple of Mukansa swordsmith, Sakai Ikkansai Shigem. Masayoshi is a master of Soshu-den, and is known for his expertise in reproducing Norishige, Masamune's disciple.

The Hamon is gunome-midare with a tight nie, hakomidare in places. The blade shows activity such as ashi and yo. The boshi is returned to nakamaru. It is very well preserved and remains original in length, width, and thickness. However, there is a 4 cm long kitae flaw at a point about 21 cm from the habakimoto of the sashiomote, but it is very shallow and is not a problem for practical use. The koshirae has modern metal fittings and saya lacquering. The wakasa style lacquering is also beautiful as decoration.

The tsuka is wrapped with black silk cord and is very comfortable to hold. The balance is very nice so this is a practical and affordable sword that can be used immediately as a batto or test cutting sword.
