Katana - Mumei(No Signature) - Uchigatana Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Shinshinto Era

¥600,000

This sword is an unsigned katana made during the late Tokugawa Shogunate period. The sword is in excellent condition with no flaws or rust. It is a perfect sword for iai (iaido) as it is well-balanced and has a groove engraved on the blade. The hada is a beautifully formed itame, with a very attractive midare hamon and a dynamic nioideki choji.

The metal fittings and koshirae are modern. The scabbard in particular is a carved scabbard called inro, which is partially wrapped with stingray, and is finished to a very beautiful degree of perfection, even when displayed. Probably this sword was used for iai, so there is a very shallow hikake about 5 cm long on the sashiomote near the habaki. This sword is full of charm and can be displayed in a room for appreciation or used as an iai sword.
