This blade has been acquired. Discover other exceptional swords currently available in our collection.
An unsigned, but highly sought-after Suriage katana from the Koto period has arrived in stock. The condition of the blade has marks around the monouchi area, as if it had been used, but it is not chipped. It is easy to identify when looking at it from the Sashiura side. There is a possibility that the defects may have occurred while the sword was being taken in and out of its scabbard.
The surface of the sword is clean for its age and the hada and hamon are clearly visible. The hada is itame mixed with mokume and has very active chikei. Hamon is a gunome like togariba with notare mixed with gunome. Hataraki such as yo and ashi can also be seen in places. It has a relatively slender blade with little curvature, but originally had a blade length of about 73 cm, but repeated suriage has reduced it to its current length.
A very competitive price has been set, so don't miss out on this opportunity. This is your chance to own an authentic katana from the old Koto period.
