A well-preserved and signed Japanese sword has arrived at TOZANDO. The hada is well packed with itame and the chikei is well visible. Hamon is very elegant with thin Suguha. The kasane is very thick, 7.9 mm at the motohaba position, so we can assume that this katana was made for practical use. Unfortunately, there is a 1mm black dot flaw on the shinogi about 5cm from the habaki on the sashiomote side. There is also a thin rusting on the mune about 6 cm from the munemachi. On the nakago is engraved the inscription, "Noriyuki, a resident of Ako".
Noriyuki was a swordsmith who was active in the Ako region of the country of Harima during the Shinshinto period at the end of the Edo period. Noriyuki's real name was Sasaki Saburobei, and he was originally from the country of Bizen. He learned sword making from Ikkansai Yoriyuki, a swordsmith in the service of the Ikeda family of the Tottori domain in the province of Inaba, and specialized in the bizen style.
This sword is equipped with a tachi style koshirae, and although the metal fittings were made in a relatively modern period, there are traces of actual use. The koshirae has absolutely no missing pieces and the components are in excellent condition, making it a real pleasure to display and enjoy in your living room.
Buy this wonderful set now and be equipped with a gorgeous Tachi koshirae on a very sharp Noriyuki!
