Katana - Mumei(No Signature) - Uchigatana/Shirasaya Koshirae - Suriage Nakago - Gendai Era - Wakayama 24523

¥450,000 ¥498,000

We are pleased to introduce this affordable used modern Japanese sword, equipped with both a shirasaya and uchigatana, making it suitable for test cutting, batto, and iaido.

The blade is well-polished and in excellent condition with minimal imperfections, but there is a slight chip in the blade approximately 12 centimeters from the kissaki, indicating signs of actual use. The jigane has well-developed itame, with yubashiri visible in places. The hamon features a notare-style suguha with sharp guome arranged in an orderly manner.

Based on its shape and nakago condition, this blade is believed to be from the early Showa period, likely crafted in the Seki area of Gifu Prefecture. In addition to the shirasaya, it also comes with an uchigatana koshirae. The Uchigatana was recently crafted and is in excellent condition, but the wooden blade, known as the Tsunagi, is broken in the middle. Based on its weight, length, and condition, this set is ideal for test cutting and batto practice.

It is highly recommended for those seeking a practical Japanese sword rather than one for display.
