This blade has been acquired. Discover other exceptional swords currently available in our collection.
This piece is a very affordable katana made during the Koto period.
The blade is relatively well preserved, with no rust, chips, or other defects, but there is a spot on the sashiomote side about 10 cm from the habaki that is fukure-like. There are also some fukure marks about 18 cm from the habaki on the sashiura side as well as two cloudy white dots at a point about 30 cm from the habaki on the sashiura side.
The jigane is very spectacular with itame and mokume mixed in. Hamon has a wide gunome with nie well attached, and hataraki such as sunagashi and aranie are also common in ha. Based on its weight and length, this sword is ideal for iai and batto use.
Tozando can equip this katana with an uchigatana koshirae and you can change to an uchigatana katana (extra charge required). If you mention this in the comments section when ordering, we will send you a catalog with tsuba, fuchi kashira, etc. to follow.
