This katana is estimated to have been made during the Koto period, and is in fair preservation, but there are signs that it was actually used, such as light scratching and forging defects.
The hada has itame mixed with mokume and chikei can be seen everywhere. The surface is cloudy, so it is difficult to see in some places. The hamon is thin sugha with nie well attached. All of the koshirae fittings are from the period and have a historical feel to them.
The fuchi kashira is in the style of handachi, and the tsuka has repair marks from tsukasame when it was rewrapped. It comes with a black scabbard, which has been fitted with a ready-made scabbard in recent years, but there is a crack in the Koiguchi on the mune side, so a spare scabbard will be provided free of charge.
Anyway, if you want to buy a real Japanese sword at a low price, or if you want a Japanese sword for test cutting, batto and iaido, this katana is for you.
