This sword has a few kitae flaws and use flaws, but is in relatively fair condition with little damage for its age. There are some aesthetic defects near the cutting edge, and the overall surface is a bit cloudy. Nevertheless, the interesting jitetsu of itame mixed with mokume and the textured notare blade pattern mixed with choji are well worth appreciating. The shape of the nakago is a cut-off shape called kiri or kaku-ichimonji. The tsuba is original and should have been inscribed, but it is partially erased and illegible. The elegant kanshitsu saya has several flaws. This sword is recommended for those who are looking for a sword with uchigatana koshirae and at a reasonable price.
