This sword, although without signature, has been authenticated by the NTHK as the work of Unju Korekazu. Korekazu was born in 1820, and became the adopted son of the sixth Ishido Korekazu. Around 1841, he officially took over as the seventh generation swordsmith. Korekazu was renowned as a master swordsmith, and even at that time, he was immensely popular, later becoming the designated smith of the Tokugawa family. He is truly a master craftsman representing the Shinshinto period. This sword has no fatal flaws, but there are signs that an amateur has attempted to sharpen the Kissaki area. This sword is highly recommended for those who want to acquire a masterpiece at a reasonable price.
