We have a new, reasonably priced Koto period katana in stock. The sword is in an old polished condition, but is clean overall. There is a 3mm forging flaw around the shinogisuji, about 26cm from the kisaki.

There are no chips on the blade. The hada is a mixture of itame and mokume with some chikei visible. Hamon is well tight with irregular midare with some gunome and togariba mixed in places. There is also hataraki such as ashi and yo. This sword blade was originally longer, but was shortened to its present length by Suriage. It has a weight and balance suitable for batto and iai use, and if you prefer, it can be equipped with an uchigatana koshirae for an additional fee. Please contact us after you have purchased this sword if you wish to have an uchigatana koshirae.
