This piece is very well preserved with a beautiful hamon dagger. The well-packed itame hada has hataraki such as chikei. The hakomidare type of gunome hamon is very beautiful and has active hataraki such as kinsen and aranie.
The work is very gorgeous, yet powerful, and is typical of the Seki swordsmith's work. The blade has hi (gutter) engraving on both sides and a thin soehi. The name Kanenori is engraved on the nakago. Like Magoroku, Kanenori was a swordsmith of the Akasaka Senjuin school in Mino, and is said to be the son of Kanenaga. The name of Kanenori as a swordsmith was passed down from the Muromachi period to the early Edo period, with alternation, and he is a representative of the Mino school of swordsmanship.
The Society for Preservation of Japanese Art Swords has given this work a hozon certification as highly worthy of preservation for posterity and issued a certificate of authenticity.
This very beautiful dagger is a magnet not only for Japanese sword collectors but also for art collectors.
