Tadayuki, who forged this sword, was a swordsmith active in the Province of Settsu (present-day Osaka Prefecture) and was the younger brother of the first Tadatsuna. This sword was made during the period known as Kambun Shinto, when Kotetsu, Keneshige, and Korekazu were active. The Kambun Shinto era was one of the golden ages of Japanese swords, when many excellent swords were produced. This blade of this sword is slightly narrower, but also thicker and stronger. The jitetsu and hamon are visible and there are no fatal flaws, but the surface is a little cloudy with black rust scattered on it. The price is set low considering this condition, but the surface can be polished clean for an additional 50,000 yen. The fuchigashira and menuki are original while the tsuba was made in recent years. This sword is especially suitable for test cutting because of its thickness. If the surface of the sword blade is polished clean, you can also enjoy appreciating the real pleasure of Kanbun Shinto sword.
