Katana - Mumei(No Signature) - Uchigatana Koshirae - Suriage Nakago - Shinshinto Era - Kanagawa 81317

¥520,000

A very special Japanese sword equipped with a very unique koshirae has just arrived.

The blade is overall very clean and excellent with no fatal flaws such as kitae flaws, dents, or chips. There is a scratch on the sashiomote side about 3 cm from the munemachi at the shinogi, but it does not significantly detract from the beauty of the sword. The hada is a mixture of itame and mokume, with active hataraki such as chikei and yubashiri. The hamon is a thin suguha with nie, and even though this katana was made at the end of the Edo period, it exudes the characteristics of the koto period.

The main feature of this Japanese sword is that the scabbard is carved and lacquered like bamboo, which is so precise that it looks as if it were made of real bamboo. At the end of the scabbard is equipped with a kojiri in the shape of a Kuwagata. The area around the kojiri and kurigata is wrapped with rattan and reinforced. The metal fittings are relatively modern, and the silk tsuka is wrapped with tsumamimaki.

If you are looking for an unusual koshirae Japanese sword, this is a great piece to add to your wish list.
