Tanto - Mumei(No Signature) - Shirasaya Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Koto Era - Kanagawa 76934

¥198,000

This dagger is a good, nearly flawless Shobuzukuri style tanto from the Muromachi period. Because it is an older piece, the surface of the blade is lightly clouded, but the hada and hamon are clearly visible. Itame hada mixed with yubashiri and hoso-soguha hamon are featured. The structure of the shobu-zukuri is very interesting, while the dagger is practical and short, typical of the Koto period work.

The shobu-zukuri resembles an iris leaf, hence its name. The boshi is pointed and turned. On the scabbard is written the characters "Mumei Rai Kunitoshi". This Muromachi period tanto is for sale at a very attractive price. Please be the first buyer before someone else closes the deal.
