Tanto - Mumei(No Signature) - Tanto Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Shinto Era - Mie 54625

¥270,000 ¥290,000

This piece is a dagger equipped with a koshirae from the early Edo period.

The blade is in excellent condition; it has been fully polished and is virtually flawless. The jigane features a bright, itame-hada with distinct jigane patterns clearly visible against the surface. The hamon is a regular, angular gunome pattern exhibiting hakomidare. A kinsen runs through the hamon. The koshirae is also in good condition and includes a kozuka. The tsuka-ito is wrapped with Jabara-ito; while there are some areas around the mekugi where the thread has frayed due to years of inserting and removing the mekugi, these have been repaired with Tozando to prevent further unraveling.

All the fittings are period pieces, allowing you to experience the atmosphere of the Edo period. This tanto is an excellent piece for display, recommended for everyone from first-time buyers of Japanese swords to collectors, and is offered at an affordable price.
