This tachi is a very long and dynamic piece with a blade length reminiscent of the samurai of the late Edo period. Its practical and utilitarian appearance is very much in the style of a Japanese sword. The blade is brilliantly forged and the itame hada is very beautiful. The notare hamon expresses small waves, and the gunome is comfortably and rhythmically mixed, making this an art sword that can be enjoyed for both practical use and appreciation.

Mori Sukemitsu's Profile

He was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1982 and his real name is Mori Mitsuhiro. While still in high school, he became an apprentice of Yokoi Takamitsu, a master swordsmith in Okayama Prefecture, and seven years later he qualified as a swordsmith. The following year, his talent blossomed when he was selected for an award in a competition. In 2008, he joined the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and was engaged as a Self-Defense Force member for seven years. He still holds the title as a reserve Self Defense Force officer. After retiring from the Self-Defense Forces, he moved to Osafune, Setouchi City, and resumed sword making, winning various awards.
