Katana - Masaya - Uchigatana Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Gendai Era - Gifu 80498

¥700,000 ¥730,000

This katana was made in 2011 by Masaya, a Gifu swordsmith, and is a high-end iaito or batto sword, made specifically for iaido and batto. It has been in his keeping since it was made and this is the first time it has been brought to the market. The sword is brand new, very clean and in excellent preservation.

The hada is generally itame with very active hataraki such as chikei. Hamon is very beautiful with gorgeous jukachoji, reminiscent of the national treasure sanchomo, with ashi, yo, etc. appearing very gorgeously on the sword. Koshirae is decorated with modern metal fittings, which serve to further enhance the beauty of the sword blade. The tsuka cord is made of brown cowhide leather that fits well in the hand and is wrapped in a hinerimaki style. The lacquering of the saya is done in an angewisime that gives it an even more luxurious look.

This is the perfect piece for anyone looking for a practical yet beautiful new Japanese sword.
