TOZANDO KATANA SHOP

Katana - Hiromichi - Uchigatana Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Gendai Era - Shimane 10327

A new katana, ideal for iai, test sword cutting, and batto, has just arrived at Tozando.

The overall condition of the blade is iai-polished with a cloudy surface, probably due to its use in batto and test cutting. There are no chips on the blade, but tiny dots of rust can be seen in places, and there is also a 5 mm wide rust on the minekado about 31 cm from the kissaki on the sashiomote side. jigane is itame hada, and hamon is thicker notare with active hataraki such as yo, tobisahi, and aranie can be seen in the ha.

The name Maeda Hiromichi is engraved on the nakago. The details of this swordsmith are unknown, but he was a member of the Niwa family of swordsmiths in Seki, Gifu Prefecture, who made gunto before and during World War II. His real name is Niwa Hiroshi, and his works were so well received for the excellent cutting quality that he was appointed official gunto swordsmith by the army.

Koshirae has been completely redesigned with modern fittings so that you can enjoy the cutting performance of the sword as much as possible, such as in iaido and batto. The tsukamaki is also tightly wrapped, and the scabbard is lacquered in nashiji-nuri.

If you want a katana that is meant to cut anyway you want it, this is the perfect piece for you.
