Katana - Kanehisa - Uchigatana Koshirae - Ubu Nakago - Gendai Era - Gifu 083834

¥650,000 ¥700,000

This piece was made by Gifu swordsmith Kanehisa for Batto in 2016 and is a very beautiful, practical, yet massive piece of Japanese swordsmanship. The sword is very solidly built with ample width and thickness. The blade has no flaws or chips and is in excellent condition. The hada is itame, with very active hataraki such as yubashiri and chikei clearly visible on the ji. The sashiura side has a cloudy surface like utsuri. Hamon has midare mixed with notare and the nioi is well tight. Within the ha you can see varied hataraki, including sunagashi, kinsen, and nie. Koshirae are made with modern metal fittings, and black silk tsukaito is tightly wrapped by craftsmen to withstand the practice of batto. All koshirae were done in Kyoto, Japan. It weighs 1,480 grams without the scabbard, so once you hold it in your hand, it feels heavy and full of power.

This Japanese sword by Kanehisa, which can be very useful for test cutting, is offered at a very reasonable price.
